Shipping & Delivery
Shipping & Delivery
Bush products are designed and packaged for direct shipment. If needed, due to a large number of boxes (9 or more) or the size of the items, we will deliver FREE to the room of your choice (unassembled). If you have questions about shipping, please reach out to us prior to submitting your order at websales@esolutionsfurniture.com or by calling 1-800-950-4782.
Orders ship complete. Inventory for all ordered items will be confirmed prior to shipment. No partial orders will be shipped. Most products ship in 1-2 business days from receipt of an online customer order. Standard transit times are 3-5 business days for shipment.
Shipping information is clearly marked on the product page and will be highlighted when checking out. All products in your order are shipped via the same freight company within the contiguous 48 states.
We do our best to offer free shipping to all our customers; however, some exceptions may apply. If your order falls outside of standard delivery, we encourage you to contact our customer service department to determine additional shipping costs or delivery instructions that may be required.
Getting your furniture
Once your order ships you will receive an e-mail confirming the shipment and the carrier. You can sign into your Bush Home account with your e-mail address and receive tracking information on your order. Or, with your e-mail and order number, you can view tracking information without signing in.
If you are unable to be at your home or place of business (and if it is safe to leave the item), the carrier will deliver your package to the front door or an alternate dry location.
Undeliverable items
We will make every attempt to complete the delivery of an item. Standard Return Policy applies in the event that the customer is unavailable, or if an incorrect shipping address was provided. Please contact a Customer Care associate at 1-800-950-4782 to make any adjustments for ensuring successful delivery.

• Sturdy design is forgiving and resists scratches
• Flat-packed shipping lowers costs and makes it easy to move packages. Plus, we deliver to right to your door.
Shipping Requirements and Address Information
At Bush Home, we strive to provide efficient and reliable delivery services for your orders. Please note that we do not ship to Post Office boxes (P.O. boxes). Instead, we require a physical street address for delivery. This policy is in place to ensure the secure and timely delivery of your order directly to your specified location.
Reasons for Physical Address Requirement:
Shipping to a physical address rather than a P.O. box offers several advantages:
- Secure Delivery: Packages delivered to physical addresses are more secure and less prone to theft or mishandling compared to deliveries to P.O. boxes.
- Tracking and Confirmation: Physical addresses allow for better tracking and confirmation of delivery, ensuring you receive your order accurately and on time.
- Carrier Requirements: Many shipping carriers have restrictions or regulations that prevent delivery to P.O. boxes for certain types of shipments.
How to Provide a Suitable Delivery Address:
When placing an order, please ensure you provide a valid physical street address where you can receive deliveries during regular business hours. Here’s how you can ensure a smooth delivery process:
- Verify Address Accuracy: Double-check the accuracy of your delivery address to avoid any delays or issues with delivery.
- Provide a Delivery Phone Number: It is required to provide a delivery phone number where you can be reached to schedule the delivery or in case the carrier needs to contact you regarding your delivery.
Contact Us for Assistance:
If you have any questions or need further clarification about our shipping policies or address requirements, please do not hesitate to reach out to our sales team:
- Phone: 800-950-4782
- Email: websales@esolutionsfurniture.com
We are committed to providing excellent customer service and ensuring that your order is delivered securely and efficiently. Our team is here to help you throughout the ordering and delivery process, ensuring a positive experience with Bush Home.

How will my furniture ship?
At Bush Home, we ensure your furniture is shipped with care and efficiency. Here’s how your order will be delivered based on the items you’ve selected:
UPS and FedEx Deliveries:
Most Bush Home products are designed and packaged for direct shipment via FedEx or UPS. These carriers will typically deliver your items to your doorstep whenever possible. Please note the following:
- Delivery Notification: UPS and FedEx do not typically notify you before delivery. They will leave the package in a covered location if it is safe to do so.
Truck Deliveries (Inside Delivery Service):
For orders consisting of over 8 packages or oversized items that cannot be shipped via small parcel with FedEx or UPS, we use a common carrier for delivery. Here’s what you need to know:
- Pre-call (Order Review): Prior to shipment, an order management representative will conduct a pre-call with you. This call serves to review your order details and discuss any specific requirements or concerns regarding the delivery location. The goal is to ensure a smooth and successful delivery process.
- Delivery to Room of Choice: All items on the same order that require truck delivery will be shipped via the same freight company. The carrier will deliver the items to your designated Room of Choice within your home.
- Identifying Room of Choice Items: Products eligible for Room of Choice delivery are clearly marked on the product page and highlighted during checkout.
- Common Carrier Details: Common carrier deliveries are managed by a trucking company contracted for packages over 150 pounds. A signature will be required upon delivery.
- Inspection and Damages: Upon delivery, please inspect all cartons for any signs of damage. If you notice any damage to the carton, please note it on the delivery receipt before signing.
- Delivery Schedule: Common carrier truck deliveries are scheduled Monday through Friday only. The freight carrier will typically contact you by telephone to schedule an appointment.
For any questions about your shipment or to inquire about specific delivery arrangements, please contact our customer service team. We are committed to ensuring your furniture arrives safely and meets your expectations.
We strive to provide transparent and reliable shipping options to make your furniture buying experience with Bush Home straightforward and convenient.
Do You Ship to Canada, Hawaii, or Alaska?
Shipping Policy
Thank you for your interest in our products! Currently, our shipping services are limited to the contiguous 48 states within the United States. This means that we are unable to ship to the following locations:
- Canada
- Hawaii
- Alaska
Shipping to a Freight Forwarder
For customers located in Hawaii, or Alaska, we offer the option to ship to a freight forwarder within the contiguous 48 states. You can arrange for a freight forwarding service to receive your order and handle the delivery to your final destination.
How to Use a Freight Forwarder:
- Choose a Freight Forwarder: Select a reputable freight forwarder that provides services to your location.
- Place Your Order: During checkout, enter the freight forwarder's address as the shipping address.
- Notify the Freight Forwarder: Inform the freight forwarder of your incoming shipment and provide them with any necessary documentation or instructions.
- Freight Forwarder Delivery: The freight forwarder will receive your order and manage the shipment to your final destination.
Please note that once the order is delivered to the freight forwarder, we are not responsible for any additional shipping, handling, or customs fees incurred.
Why Don't We Ship to These Locations?
Our decision to limit shipping to the contiguous 48 states is based on several factors, including logistical challenges, shipping costs, and regulatory requirements. By focusing our shipping services within this area, we can ensure timely deliveries, maintain cost-effectiveness, and provide the best possible customer experience.
Future Shipping Plans
We understand that this may be disappointing to our customers in Canada, Hawaii, and Alaska. We are continuously evaluating our shipping policies and exploring options to expand our delivery areas. While we do not have a specific timeline for when we might start shipping to these locations, we are committed to keeping our customers informed of any changes.

Can You Ship to APO/FPO Addresses?
At Bush Home, we strive to provide convenient shipping options for our customers. However, we regret to inform you that we are unable to ship directly to APO/FPO addresses at this time. This limitation is primarily due to the size of our cartons, which do not meet the requirements for shipping to military addresses.
Why We Cannot Ship to APO/FPO Addresses:
- Carton Size Requirements: Shipments to APO/FPO addresses have specific size restrictions that our current cartons do not meet. These restrictions are in place to ensure packages can be processed efficiently through military mail systems.
Alternative Delivery Options:
If you require delivery to an APO/FPO address, we recommend the following alternatives:
- Shipping to a Friend or Relative: You can have your order shipped to a friend or relative who can then forward the shipment to your APO/FPO address. This ensures you can still receive your order even if it cannot be sent directly.
Contact Us for Assistance:
We understand the importance of finding the best shipping solution for your needs. If you have further questions or need assistance with delivery options, please contact our sales team at websales@esolutionsfurniture.com. Our team is here to help find the best solution and ensure your order reaches you in a timely manner.

This approach ensures that you receive your complete order in a timely manner, minimizing any inconvenience or delays associated with partial shipments. Maintenance & Other
Can the Product Be Painted a Different Color?
Painting furniture units can be tempting to match decor or personal style preferences. However, it's essential to understand the implications before proceeding with any alterations:
Risks of Painting
- Adhesion Issues: Laminate surfaces are designed with specific finishes that may not adhere well to paint. Painting over laminate can result in poor adhesion, leading to peeling, bubbling, or cracking of the paint.
- Damage to Surface: Most paints contain corrosive elements that can potentially damage the laminate surface over time. This can compromise the appearance and structural integrity of the furniture.
Warranty Implications
- Voided Warranty: Unauthorized alterations, including painting, typically void the manufacturer's warranty. The warranty covers the product in its original condition and intended use. Any modifications alter the product's original state, absolving the manufacturer of liability for any issues that arise.
Alternative Solutions
- Explore Available Options: Consider the wide range of laminates, styles, and colors available when selecting furniture. Bush Home offer various finishes and designs to suit different preferences without the need for painting.
- Consult with Us: If you are unsure about color options or seeking customization, contact our Consumer Service Team for assistance. We can provide recommendations or alternative products that align with your aesthetic preferences.

How Do I Properly Clean My Laminate Work Surface?
Watch our helpful instruction video to learn how to properly clean your laminate or melamine work surface.
Maintaining the appearance and longevity of your laminate work surface requires regular and proper cleaning. Laminate surfaces are designed to be durable and easy to care for, but following specific guidelines can help preserve their quality and appearance. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to properly clean your laminate work surface.
Daily Cleaning
- Dusting:Use a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and loose debris from the surface. Microfiber cloths are especially effective as they trap dust particles without scratching the laminate.
Removing Stains
- General Stains:For routine stains, use a cloth soaked in a mixture of water and mild detergent. Gently wipe the stained area until it is clean.Make sure the cloth is not overly saturated; it should be damp, not dripping.
- Persistent Stains:For more stubborn stains, apply a small amount of the water and detergent mixture directly to the stain. Allow it to sit for a few minutes before wiping it away with a damp cloth.Avoid scrubbing too hard to prevent damaging the laminate surface.
Best Practices for Laminate Surface Care
- Avoid Wet Objects:Do not place wet objects directly on the laminate work surface. Standing water can seep into seams and edges, potentially causing the laminate to swell or peel.Use coasters or trays for drinks and wet items to protect the surface.
- Avoid Commercial Cleaning Products:Refrain from using commercial cleaning products, especially those that contain harsh chemicals, abrasives, or solvents. These products can damage the laminate and dull its finish.Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaning solutions such as a mix of water and mild detergent.
- Wipe Spills Immediately:Clean up spills as soon as they occur to prevent liquids from seeping into the laminate and causing damage.Use a soft, absorbent cloth to blot the spill and then wipe the area with a damp cloth.
- Avoid Abrasive Tools:Do not use steel wool, scrubbing pads, or any abrasive tools on the laminate surface. These can scratch and damage the finish.
Additional Tips
- Prevent Heat Damage:Use trivets or heat-resistant mats under hot cookware or appliances to prevent heat damage to the laminate surface.
- Protect from Sharp Objects:Always use a cutting board when slicing or chopping food. Direct contact with knives and other sharp objects can scratch the laminate.
- Regular Maintenance:Incorporate regular maintenance into your cleaning routine to keep the laminate surface looking its best. A quick daily dusting and weekly cleaning with a mild detergent solution can prevent buildup and keep the surface pristine.
Conclusion
Proper care and maintenance of your laminate work surface are essential to keeping it looking its best and ensuring its longevity. By using a soft, dry cloth for dusting, a damp cloth with mild detergent for stains, and avoiding wet objects and harsh cleaning products, you can maintain the beauty and functionality of your laminate work surface for years to come. Remember to act quickly with spills and stains, use protective measures for heat and sharp objects, and avoid abrasive tools to keep your laminate surface in top condition.
How Do I Clean My Upholstery?
Watch our helpful video to learn how to clean your upholstery.
Regular cleaning and maintenance are essential to keep your upholstered furniture looking fresh and extending its lifespan. Proper care can prevent dirt and stains from setting in, making it easier to clean and maintain the beauty of your upholstery. Follow these steps to clean and maintain your upholstered furniture effectively.
General Cleaning Tips
- Regular Vacuuming:Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove dust and debris from the surface and crevices of the upholstery. Vacuuming once a week can prevent dirt from becoming embedded in the fabric.
- Spot Cleaning:Address spills and stains as soon as they occur. Blot the spill with a clean, dry cloth to absorb as much liquid as possible. Avoid rubbing, as this can push the stain deeper into the fabric.
- Fabric Care Codes:Check the manufacturer’s care label on your furniture for specific cleaning instructions. The label often includes a fabric care code that indicates the best cleaning method:W: Water-based cleaning agents are safe to use.S: Use solvent-based cleaning agents or dry cleaning only.WS: Both water-based and solvent-based cleaners are safe.X: Only vacuuming or light brushing is recommended; do not use any cleaning agents.

Deep Cleaning
For a thorough clean, consider the following options:
- Steam Cleaning:Use a steam cleaner designed for upholstery. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and test a small area first to ensure the fabric can handle steam cleaning.
- Professional Cleaning:Hire a professional upholstery cleaning service for deep cleaning and maintenance. Professionals have the expertise and equipment to handle various types of upholstery fabrics.
Preventive Measures
- Use Fabric Protectors:Apply a fabric protector spray to your upholstery to create a barrier against stains and spills. Follow the product instructions carefully.
- Rotate Cushions:Rotate and flip cushions regularly to distribute wear evenly and maintain the shape of your furniture.
- Avoid Direct Sunlight:Keep upholstered furniture out of direct sunlight to prevent fading and damage to the fabric.
- Pet Care:If you have pets, use pet-friendly furniture covers and regularly groom your pets to minimize shedding and dirt.
Conclusion

By using the appropriate cleaning methods and preventive measures, you can keep your upholstered furniture looking fresh and extend its life. For deep cleaning, consider steam cleaning or hiring a professional service. With proper care, your upholstery will remain a beautiful and comfortable part of your home for years to come.
What Materials Are Used to Make RTA Laminate Furniture?
When selecting Ready-to-Assemble (RTA) laminate furniture, understanding the materials used in its construction can help you appreciate its durability, aesthetic appeal, and maintenance requirements. Our RTA laminate furniture is crafted using high-quality materials designed to provide a wood-like appearance while ensuring longevity and resistance to everyday wear and tear. Here’s a detailed overview of the materials used in our RTA laminate furniture:
Key Materials Used in RTA Laminate Furniture
- Laminated Particle Boards:Particle Boards: The core material for most RTA laminate furniture is particle board, which is made from wood chips, sawdust, and resin. This combination is pressed and extruded to form sturdy boards.Lamination: These particle boards are then covered with a laminated layer to enhance their appearance and durability. The lamination process involves fusing a thin layer of decorative material to the surface of the particle board under high pressure and heat.
- Paper Finish:Wood-like Color and Texture: A high-quality paper finish is applied to the laminated particle boards to give them a wood-like color and texture. This finish mimics the look and feel of real wood, providing an aesthetically pleasing surface.Durability: The paper finish is designed to be durable, helping to protect the furniture from minor scratches and wear.
- Commercial-Grade Melamine:Melamine-Coated Surfaces: Many of our furniture collections feature surfaces coated with commercial-grade melamine. Melamine is a type of plastic resin that provides a hard, durable surface.Resistance to Damage: Melamine is highly resistant to scratches, stains, and wear, making it an ideal choice for furniture that is subject to frequent use.
- Durable Papers:Protective Layer: In addition to the decorative paper finish, a layer of durable paper is often used in the construction of RTA laminate furniture. This layer adds an extra level of protection and ensures the longevity of the furniture.Enhanced Resistance: The combination of durable papers with melamine coating enhances the furniture’s resistance to everyday damage, including spills and scratches.
Benefits of These Materials
- Aesthetic Appeal: The wood-like color and texture provided by the paper finish and melamine coating give RTA laminate furniture a high-end look that can complement any interior décor.
- Durability: The use of laminated particle boards, commercial-grade melamine, and durable papers ensures that the furniture can withstand regular use and maintain its appearance over time.
- Ease of Maintenance: The surfaces of RTA laminate furniture are easy to clean and maintain, requiring only a damp cloth for regular upkeep. The resistant properties of melamine and durable papers mean fewer worries about stains and scratches.
- Cost-Effectiveness: RTA laminate furniture offers a cost-effective alternative to solid wood furniture, providing a similar aesthetic at a more affordable price point.
Conclusion
Our RTA laminate furniture is meticulously crafted using laminated particle boards, high-quality paper finishes, commercial-grade melamine, and durable papers. These materials are chosen for their ability to mimic the look of real wood while offering superior resistance to scratches, stains, and everyday wear. By combining these elements, we ensure that our furniture is not only beautiful and stylish but also durable and easy to maintain. Whether you are furnishing your home or office, our RTA laminate furniture provides an excellent blend of aesthetics, durability, and value.
Why Does My Furniture Smell or Have an Odor?
Watch our helpful instruction video to learn how to properly clean your laminate or melamine work surface.
Ready-to-assemble (RTA) furniture often emits odors due to the materials used in its construction. Here are some common reasons for the smell:
- Particleboard or MDF: Many RTA furniture pieces are made from particleboard or medium-density fiberboard (MDF), which are engineered wood products. These materials can emit low levels of formaldehyde, a chemical used in their manufacture, which can produce a strong odor, especially when the furniture is new. This odor typically dissipates over time as the furniture off-gasses. All products comply with TSCA Title VI standards for formaldehyde.
- Adhesives and Sealants: Glues, adhesives, and sealants used in the assembly of RTA furniture may emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs), contributing to the smell. These compounds can include various chemicals that give off odors.
- Packaging Materials: Sometimes, the odor could come from the packaging materials used during transportation and storage. Cardboard, plastic wraps, and other packing materials can absorb odors and transfer them to the furniture.
- To mitigate the odor from your RTA furniture, you can try the following:
- Air it out: Place the furniture in a well-ventilated area for a few days to allow any odors to dissipate naturally. Typically, it is three to four days.
- Clean the surface: Wipe down the furniture with a mild detergent solution to remove any residues that may contribute to the smell.
- Use odor absorbers: Place odor-absorbing materials like baking soda, activated charcoal, or coffee grounds near the furniture to help absorb any lingering odors.
- Air purifiers: Consider using an air purifier with a HEPA filter to help remove airborne particles and odors from the room.
- Patience: In many cases, the odor will diminish over time as the furniture continues to off-gas. Be patient, and the smell should gradually fade away.
Why Does My New Upholstered Couch Smell?
When you purchase a brand-new upholstered couch, you may notice an unfamiliar smell. This is a common occurrence and usually not a cause for concern. The odors can result from various factors associated with the manufacturing, transportation, and storage processes. Here’s a detailed look at why your new couch might smell and what you can do about it.
Causes of Odors in New Upholstered Couches
- Manufacturing Residues:Dyes: The dyes used to color the fabric can emit odors.Chemicals: Chemicals used in the treatment of fabrics and foam, such as flame retardants, can contribute to the smell.Adhesives: Glues and other adhesives used in assembling the couch can release fumes.
- Packaging Materials:Packaging materials used during transportation and storage can trap odors, which may become noticeable when the packaging is removed.
- Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs):Off-Gassing: New furniture often releases VOCs, which are chemicals that vaporize at room temperature. These can originate from materials like foam, fabrics, and adhesives. While typically harmless, VOCs can produce a distinct smell.
- Storage and Transportation:If the couch was stored in a warehouse or showroom, it might have absorbed odors from its surroundings, including other furniture, cleaning products, or environmental factors.
Are These Odors Harmful?
In most cases, the odors from new upholstered furniture are harmless. They are simply a byproduct of the materials and manufacturing processes used to produce the couch. However, if you are sensitive to certain chemicals or have allergies, you may experience mild discomfort.
How Long Do the Odors Last?
The odors from a new couch usually dissipate over time, especially with proper ventilation. Typically, it takes about 3-4 days for the smell to significantly diminish. However, in some cases, it may take up to a few weeks for all odors to completely disappear.
Tips to Reduce Odors
- Ventilation:Place the couch in a well-ventilated area. Open windows and use fans to circulate air around the room.
- Air Purifiers:Consider using an air purifier with a HEPA filter to help remove airborne particles and VOCs from the air.
- Activated Charcoal:Place bowls of activated charcoal near the couch. Activated charcoal is known for its odor-absorbing properties.
- Sunlight:If possible, place the couch in a sunny spot for a few hours. Sunlight can help neutralize odors.
Conclusion
Experiencing an odor from a new upholstered couch is a common and typically temporary issue. The smell is often due to residues from manufacturing processes, VOCs, and packaging materials. With time and proper ventilation, these odors usually dissipate within a few days to weeks. By following the tips provided, you can help speed up this process and enjoy your new furniture without any lingering smells.

How to Identify Hardware Parts Without Labels
When assembling furniture, correctly identifying hardware parts is crucial for smooth assembly and ensuring structural integrity. Here’s a guide to help you identify the correct screws, nuts, and bolts when they are not labeled:
Using the Assembly Instructions
- Consult the Assembly Instructions: The Assembly Instruction book typically includes detailed diagrams or illustrations of each hardware part required for assembly.
- Scale Drawings: All nuts, bolts, and screws in the Assembly Instruction book are drawn to scale. This means that the size and shape of each piece in the diagram match its actual physical dimensions.
- Match Against Diagrams:Take a piece of the enclosed hardware (nut, bolt, screw) and hold it up against the corresponding picture in the Instructions.Compare the physical hardware to the diagram in terms of shape and size. The correct hardware part should match the drawing in both shape and size, helping you easily identify each piece.
- Use of Scale: Ensure the hardware part matches the scale drawing in the Instructions accurately. This method allows for quick identification and ensures you select the correct piece for each step of assembly.
Additional Tips for Identification
- Organize Hardware: Before starting assembly, organize all hardware parts into separate groups (screws, bolts, nuts) according to their sizes and types.
- Double-Check: If uncertain, double-check the shape and size of the hardware against the Assembly Instructions before proceeding.
- Count and Verify: Count all hardware pieces before assembly to ensure none are missing. Refer to the quantity listed in the Assembly Instructions.
When Labels Are Missing
If hardware parts are not labeled, following the above steps using the Assembly Instructions should effectively help you identify each piece needed for assembly.

- Begin turning the KD cam clockwise. Gradually increase the pressure as you turn to ensure a snug fit.
- Rotate the KD cam to approximately the 2 o’clock position. This position helps in securely clamping the pieces of wood together.
5. Applying Final Pressure:
- To ensure the KD cam is properly tightened, apply a little additional pressure once it reaches the 2 o’clock position. This step ensures that the joint is firmly held together without over-tightening, which could potentially damage the cam or the wood.
Additional Tips:
- Avoid Over-Tightening: Excessive force when tightening the KD cam can lead to damage. Apply firm pressure gradually and check the stability of the joint periodically.
- Check Alignment: Before final tightening, ensure that all parts are aligned correctly. Misalignment can affect the stability and appearance of the assembled furniture.
Troubleshooting:
- Looseness: If you notice that the joint feels loose after tightening, double-check the alignment and consider re-tightening the KD cam with slightly more pressure.
- Damage to Cam or Wood: If the KD cam or the wood shows signs of damage during assembly, please contact our Consumer Service Team for assistance.

Can I Put Casters on the Unit I Purchased or Modify It in Any Way?
Modifying furniture, such as adding casters (wheels), can impact its safety and functionality. Here’s what you need to know before making any modifications:
Adding Casters
- Safety Concerns: If the unit does not come with casters originally, it is unsafe to add them. This modification can alter the unit's "tip stability factor," potentially increasing the risk of tipping over. This poses a danger to individuals, pets, and any items placed on or inside the unit.
- Risk of Tipping: Adding casters may compromise the stability and balance of the furniture. Furniture is designed and tested for stability in its original configuration. Any alteration, such as adding casters, can disrupt this balance and increase the likelihood of tipping.
Warranty Implications
- Voiding the Warranty: Modifying the furniture, including adding casters, voids the manufacturer's warranty. Warranty coverage typically applies to the product in its original, unmodified state. By altering the unit, you assume responsibility for any resulting issues or hazards.
- Liability Absolution: Adding casters or making other modifications absolves the company from liability for accidents, injuries, or damages caused by the modified product. The warranty is no longer valid for such alterations.
Alternative Solutions
- Consider Manufacturer Recommendations: If mobility is desired, consider furniture units designed to accommodate casters. Many products are available with integrated caster options that maintain safety and stability.
- Consult with Manufacturer: If unsure about modifications or seeking alternative solutions, contact our Consumer Service Team for guidance. We can provide recommendations or alternative products designed to meet your needs safely.

I Have Attached Two Boards to Each Other, But When They Stand by Themselves the Boards Seem Wobbly. Is This Normal?
Understanding the Assembly Process
It is perfectly normal for two boards standing alone to be wobbly during the initial stages of assembly. Here’s why this happens and what to expect as you continue building your furniture:
Why the Boards Are Wobbly
- Partial Assembly: When only two boards are attached, the structure lacks the additional support provided by the rest of the components. This results in a temporary lack of stability.
- Incomplete Frame: The boards will not be securely locked into place until the entire frame, including all supporting components, is fully assembled.
Ensuring Stability
- Complete the Frame: The wobbliness will resolve once you have the entire frame assembled. Each component, including side panels, shelves, and the back panel (if applicable), contributes to the overall stability and strength of the furniture.
- Follow Instructions: Carefully follow the assembly instructions provided in your package to ensure that all parts are correctly and securely attached.
Importance of the Back Panel
- Added Stability: If your furniture includes a back panel, it is crucial to install it as it significantly enhances the structural integrity and stability of the unit.
- Final Lock-In: The back panel helps lock the entire frame into place, ensuring that the boards are securely held together and eliminating any wobbliness.
Additional Tips
- Work on a Flat Surface: Assemble your furniture on a flat, stable surface to prevent any additional wobbliness during the assembly process.
- Double-Check Connections: Ensure all fasteners and connectors are properly tightened and secured as you progress through the assembly steps.
When to Contact Support

The Hole Around the Fastener Bolt is Flaking. Is This Normal?
Understanding Flaking Around Fastener Holes
It's common for some flaking to happen around the hole when fastening the bolt. This is a normal occurrence and is part of the design to ensure a secure fit. Here’s why it happens and how to handle it:
Why Flaking Occurs
- Tight Grip: The hole is intentionally slightly smaller than the bolt to ensure a tight grip. This tight fit provides structural integrity and stability to the assembled furniture.
- Material Properties: The materials used in the furniture, such as particleboard or MDF, can cause some surface flaking when a bolt is inserted.
Tips for Smooth Fastening
If you find the insertion of the bolt difficult, you can use a simple trick to make the process easier:
- Liquid Soap: Apply a few drops of liquid soap on the bolt threads or around the hole. This can facilitate smoother placement and reduce the resistance when screwing in the bolt.
Additional Tips
- Use Proper Tools: Ensure you are using the correct tools, such as the provided Allen wrench or a suitable screwdriver, to avoid damaging the bolt or the hole.
- Gentle Pressure: Apply gentle, even pressure when inserting the bolt to minimize flaking and ensure a snug fit.

How does the Hall Tree Top Attach to the Bench Base?
To attach the Hall Tree Top to the Bench Base, refer to the Base instruction sheet towards the back. The product is designed to be versatile, serving as a standalone bench or paired with the hall tree top. The bench's surface will remain complete, while underneath, pilot holes facilitate screw penetration into the upper unit, ensuring a clean surface when not paired.
To prepare for attachment, remove the base top from the unit. Underneath, pilot holes are drilled but not fully through the finish. Insert a screw from the bottom to penetrate the top finish. Remove the screw, then insert it from the top to clear the attachment hole (refer to image). Repeat for all attachment points. Attach the base top to the hall tree top and proceed with the remaining steps of the instructions.
Are the Back Panels on Your Furniture Necessary?
Importance of Back Panels
Absolutely! The back panel of a unit serves dual purposes: maintaining its square shape and preventing the collapse of its sides. While it may appear merely aesthetic, it significantly enhances structural integrity and safety.
Structural Integrity
- Stability: The back panel helps keep the unit stable by maintaining its square shape, preventing any leaning or skewing that can occur without it.
- Support: It provides essential support to the sides of the furniture, ensuring that the overall structure remains strong and durable.
Safety
- Prevents Collapse: By securing the sides, the back panel prevents the furniture from collapsing or becoming unstable, which is crucial for the safety of the users.
- Load Distribution: It helps in evenly distributing the load across the furniture, reducing the risk of damage underweight.
Visual Appeal
- Finished Look: The back panel contributes to the overall finished look of the furniture, covering up any internal components and giving the unit a polished appearance.
- Hides Cables and Wires: It can also help in organizing and hiding cables or wires, contributing to a cleaner and more organized look.
Conclusion
Ensuring the presence of the back panel is crucial for both visual appeal and functional strength. It is not just a decorative element but an essential component that significantly enhances the structural integrity and safety of the furniture. Always install the back panel as per the assembly instructions to maintain the durability and stability of your furniture.

How Do I Secure My Vanity or Wall-Mounted Bathroom Cabinet to the Wall Studs?
Watch our step-by-step instruction video to help you secure your vanity or wall-mounted cabinet to the wall studs.
Securing a vanity or wall-mounted bathroom cabinet to the wall studs is essential for ensuring its stability and safety. Proper installation will prevent the cabinet from coming loose or falling. Follow these detailed steps to securely mount your bathroom cabinet to the wall studs.
Materials Needed
- Wall-mounted bathroom cabinet
- Stud finder
- Level
- Measuring tape
- Pencil
- Drill
- Screws (typically 2.5 to 3 inches long)
- Screwdriver or power drill with screwdriver bit
- Anchors (if needed)
- Safety goggles
- Helper (optional but recommended)
Steps to Secure the Cabinet
- Locate the Wall Studs:Use a stud finder to locate the wall studs where you want to mount the cabinet. Mark the edges of each stud with a pencil. Typically, studs are 16 inches apart, but this can vary.
- Mark the Mounting Location:Hold the cabinet up to the wall at the desired height. It’s helpful to have a helper for this step. Use a level to ensure the cabinet is straight. Mark the top and bottom of the cabinet on the wall with a pencil.Identify the mounting points on the cabinet (usually pre-drilled holes or brackets) and mark these points on the wall, aligning them with the stud locations.
- Drill Pilot Holes:At each marked mounting point, drill pilot holes into the wall studs. Pilot holes should be slightly smaller than the diameter of the screws you will use. This helps to guide the screws and prevents the wood from splitting.
- Prepare the Cabinet:If the cabinet has a back panel with pre-drilled holes, ensure they align with your pilot holes in the wall. If not, you may need to drill corresponding holes in the cabinet.
- Position the Cabinet:With the help of a partner, hold the cabinet against the wall, aligning the pre-drilled holes or brackets with the pilot holes in the wall.
- Secure the Cabinet to the Wall:Insert screws through the cabinet’s mounting holes into the pilot holes in the wall studs. Use a screwdriver or power drill with a screwdriver bit to drive the screws in securely. Ensure the screws are tight, but avoid overtightening, which can damage the cabinet or wall.
- Check for Level:Once the cabinet is secured, use a level to double-check that it is still straight. Adjust if necessary by loosening the screws slightly and repositioning the cabinet before retightening the screws.
- Final Inspection:
- Give the cabinet a gentle tug to ensure it is firmly secured to the wall. Make sure all screws are tight and the cabinet is stable.
Tips for Best Results
- Use Proper Screws: Ensure you use screws that are long enough to penetrate the wall studs by at least 1.5 inches. This usually means screws that are 2.5 to 3 inches long.
- Safety First: Wear safety goggles when drilling to protect your eyes from debris.
- Weight Considerations: Verify that the wall studs and mounting hardware can support the weight of the cabinet plus its contents.
Conclusion
Securing a wall-mounted bathroom cabinet to wall studs is crucial for safety and functionality. By accurately locating the studs, drilling pilot holes, and using appropriate screws and mounting hardware, you can ensure that your cabinet is securely and safely mounted. Following these detailed steps will help you achieve a stable and well-installed bathroom cabinet.
How Do I Apply the Adhesive to Attach the Basin to the Vanity Base?
Watch our step-by-step instruction video to help you apply the adhesive to attach the basin to the vanity base.
Properly attaching your bathroom sink basin to the vanity base is essential to ensure stability and prevent leaks. Using the right adhesive and following the correct procedure will help achieve a secure and long-lasting bond. Follow these steps to apply the adhesive and attach the basin to the vanity base.
Materials Needed
- Silicone adhesive or caulk (specifically designed for bathroom use)
- Caulking gun
- Rubbing alcohol or mild cleaner
- Clean cloth or paper towels
- Masking tape (optional)
- Basin clips or brackets (if provided)
Steps to Apply the Adhesive
- Preparation:Ensure the vanity base and the bottom of the sink basin are clean and dry. Use rubbing alcohol or a mild cleaner to remove any dust, grease, or debris from both surfaces. This ensures that the adhesive will bond effectively.
- Position the Basin:Place the basin on top of the vanity base to check the fit and alignment. Make sure it sits correctly and aligns with any pre-drilled holes for plumbing. Mark the position with masking tape if necessary, then remove the basin.
- Prepare the Adhesive:Load the silicone adhesive or caulk into the caulking gun. Cut the tip of the adhesive tube at a 45-degree angle to create an opening that matches the desired bead size. Puncture the inner seal if needed.
- Apply the Adhesive:Apply a continuous bead of silicone adhesive around the top edge of the vanity base where the basin will sit. Ensure the bead is even and thick enough to create a strong seal. If the vanity base has a rim or lip, apply the adhesive to this area.
- Attach the Basin:Carefully place the basin onto the adhesive-covered vanity base, aligning it with your previous markings. Press down gently to ensure the basin makes full contact with the adhesive.
- Secure and Set:Apply even pressure around the edges of the basin to ensure a firm bond with the adhesive. If using masking tape, apply it around the edges to hold the basin in place while the adhesive sets.
- Clean Excess Adhesive:Wipe away any excess adhesive that oozes out from under the basin using a clean cloth or paper towel. Dampen the cloth with rubbing alcohol if necessary for easier cleanup.
- Allow to Cure:Allow the adhesive to cure according to the manufacturer’s instructions. This usually takes 24 hours, but curing times can vary. Avoid using the sink during this time to ensure a strong bond.
- Final Inspection:Once the adhesive has fully cured, inspect the bond to ensure the basin is securely attached to the vanity base. Check for any gaps or loose areas and apply additional adhesive if necessary.
Tips for Best Results
- Use Quality Adhesive: Choose a high-quality silicone adhesive or caulk designed for bathroom use. These products are water-resistant and provide a strong, flexible bond.
